Hands

W tym samym czasie pracowałem nad obrazami, pozornie bez związku, z serii Sculptures. Dwa z nich bazowały na wykonanych przeze mnie zdjęciach rąk Rodina. Dwa inne powstały w oparciu o klatki z filmu, przedstawiają ręce pianisty, który nie może powrócić do formy po przeszczepie rąk kryminalisty. Intrygował mnie motyw pamięci materiału, ścisłego, fizycznego związku między tworzywem i tworzącym. Po jakimś czasie znalazłem taki oto fragment:

 "There are among the works of Rodin Hands, single small hands which without belonging to a body, are alive. Hands that rise, irritated and in wrath; hands whoose five bristling fingers seem to bark like the five jaws of a dog of Hell. Hands that walk, sleeping hands, and hands that are awakened; criminal hands, tainted with hereditary disease; and hands that are tired and will do no more, and have lain down in some corner like sick animals that know no one can help them."
