"Parallels" at ŻAK | BRANICKA

The idea of my series called Parallels developed through the interest in the relation beetwen Lygia Clark's "Bichos" series and human faces, facial features, dance and natural phenomenas.
The choice of works shown at ŻAK | BRANICKA was limited to those featuring
portraits of actresses and portraits of Clark's sculptures.
Some of my new works can be called abstract pieces:

others are focused on  abstract shapes of Bichos juxtaposed with facial features:

The preparation of my show started with a few simple tools. I didn't need fancy stuff, except an sharp eye and a compass made of  mop rod :)
Was surprised with a parallel shape of the ladder, actually it's all about "Parallels".

Finding the right shade of Gray...

and some changes in setup...

We got it right:

Some possible placements:

Yeah, Berlin always stays sexy...

The job is done. I was happy to see my friends from Berlin and Szczecin at the opening.
Ready to get back to Kraków.

More works, press release you will find here. Thanks!

The upper-case letter Φ is used as a symbol for luminous flux and golden ratio.
In photometry, luminous flux or luminous power is the measure of the perceived power of light. Luminous flux is adjusted to reflect the varying sensitivity of the human eye to different wavelengths of light.

The phi phenomenon is the optical illusion of perceiving continuous motion between separate objects viewed rapidly in succession. The phenomenon was defined by Max Wertheimer in the Gestalt psychology in 1912 and along with persistence of vision formed a part of the base of the theory of cinema, applied by Hugo Münsterberg in 1916. It is part of a larger process called Motion perception
